Trends for Fall Footwear

SimplySoles Says...A Compilation of Trends!

I feel that reading all the major fashion magazines is part of my job. While to some of you, that may sound fun, having a stack of reading material waist high is daunting no matter the subject matter. (Does Vogue really think they are doing us a favor by coming out with their "biggest issue ever"? It takes me back to my blog: Is bigger really better?).

What most fascinated me about September's reading was that the fashion magazines all had a "Fall trends" article, but curiously enough, the "trends" didn't overlap across magazines. What was a "must have" style for one magazine, wasn't mentioned in another. Hmph. How are readers supposed to know the "trends" if each fashion magazine lists different ones.

In attempt to shed some light on this very complex subject matter, I identified the overlapping themes and have compiled what I think are the truest trends for fall.

1. Shades of Gray - Definitely a common theme. It's the new neutral. All shades qualify.
Our suggestion: The Daisy by Cydney Mandel.

2. Ankle boots - Consider pairing these short boots with long tunics or sweaters.
Our suggestion: The Giuditta by Claudia Ciuti.

3. Flat boots - A few words describes the flat boot: cool, casual and chic.
Our suggestion: The Birkin by Bettye Muller.

4. Oxfords & Plaids - Menswear inspired, these shoes are masculine in shape but feminine in design.
Our suggestion: The Colette Betty Muller.

5. Fun flats - Ballets flats have given way to more varieties like pointed toes and embellishments.
Our suggestion: The Ranya by Delman.

It's always good to know what's hot, even if you prefer cooler weather.
