Bettye bonanza!

Rebecca and I are recovering. Not from an addiction (unless shoes count). We are recovering from having been up in New York shopping for spring 2007, and from the WILDLY SUCCESSFUL, and just plain WILD Sample Sale in DC. The women that came were professionals, and wasted no time in sorting through our inventory before we even had it on display. But it was all worth the bumps and bruises (kid you not) because a lot of money was raised for our favorite non-profit, Suited for Change..

As for Spring 2007, it has lots to offer. Patents, platforms, wedges, and shades of red and navy are in abundance so don't hesitate on making fall purchases on styles you were afraid would be fleeting. The only styles we saw fading were Uggs (thankfully!), rhinestones (we could use a break), and beaded mocassins (another tread we never really rode anyhow).

We're excited that we'll be offering some great new, carefully selected designers (like Missoni). But we always look forward to going to New York to visit with the tried-and-true...the designers that we started off carrying and still love today, a few years later. And as usual, (as always), we fell in love AGAIN with Bettye Muller. It's like a puppy love that never matures. Her designs are so refreshing and flirtatious, that we intentionally save her booth for last..like dessert at the end of a 7-course meal. All the dishes are delightful, but the last is the sweetest.

In case some of you somehow don't know Bettye, check her out. She's an amazing woman, and an exceptional designer whom we are so thrilled, season-after-season to feature in our catalog. and our website. Her fall designs are spectacular, and are going fast.
