Tamara Henriques developed a fetish for footwear in part thanks to her childhood spent wearing Wellingtons, and in part to beginning her career at American Vogue. Vogue led her to explore a world of shoes beyond her wellies.

During a trip to a Hong Kong shoe factory, Tamara discovered a printing process thought too laborious to use on adult shoes. Elaborate designs were being printed onto children’s rubber Wellingtons, but Tamara saw the unlimited potential to adapt this technique to adult rain boots. She packed up a suitcase full of children’s boots, and returned to Europe to create the urbanized welly. And the rest is history…
