Both women actively engage in all aspects of the family business- from designing- to scouting for fabrics- to test driving the shoes themselves. The Carrano women will not allow a shoe in their line that they are not comfortable wearing themselves.

Ann Roth
I have two major passions in life: acting and shoes. I've been acting since age 12, and I fell in love with shoes around the same age when I tried on my mom's ratty old '60s bohemian boots with their soft worn-in leather, chunky heels, and zippers up to the knees.
So how did I get into shoe design? I literally woke up one day with a vision: a toile pair of espadrilles with red rick-rack trim and silver sequins. I had to create it. That creation led to another idea and then another, and soon the ideas were coming to me so fast that I had to keep a journal by my bedside so I wouldn't forget anything.
I find inspiration everywhere—nature, people, art, architecture, fashion, and just plain old imagination. I want to share my passion with the world by creating beautiful shoes that women feel good in. Ann Roth Shoes are for people who have fun with fashion and who understand that shoes are so much more than just foot coverings. They are an art and an expression of one's individual style and personality.
